Comparison of hypertexts
I have had a lot of trouble in making my website, but looking at these other successful sites has really helped me. In reviewing these websites I found many things that I really liked and now plan to emulate for my website. The site on the low wage life of a stripper was one of my favorites in terms of valuable and relevant links. She used a different color scheme for each new page, which I find really interesting because each page is usually conveying a different message and I think it is really good to have colors to reflect that. As of now, all my webpages were following the same color scheme, but I think I will change that now that I have seen this site. When we began the site, we were instructed as an example to put all the links for the other portions of the website on the left side of the page, but from the sample hypertexts I viewed, I think that I will also revise this about my website. I found that the top navigation bar helps to unify the page, and if you use flash buttons, it also helps with the overall look of the page. As opposed to just listing references, I want to change my bibliography to make it an annotated one because I think the sources are very important in this project. In the disparity at SCU website, I really liked how the web author interviewed someone connected with the issue he was discussing. I am doing my website on the subject of mental illness, and I think for this subject a topic an interview would add a lot to the project. On the site on nail technicians, the author made a specific site for just statistics with a link. I think that is a very good idea because statistics are an important part of any research project like this, but you don't want to have to include them throughout your whole site or it can get somewhat boring. I think one page just devoted to this would be very beneficial to the audience, and also more efficiently relay my point.
