liu

I agree a lot with Liu's hypertext essay in that more people are spending less time on in-depth reading when it comes to reading stuff online. A lot of people do just skim through the readings and it does start to affect reading other materials like books. I think to keep people's attention, i need to write less and make my website look nicer because Liu also said that there is a decrease in sustained attention.

While people are less prone to stay at your website too long if there is lots of text, I don't think taking away text is the answer. The reader went to your website to learn something from what you wrote. Therefore, taking away content or writing from your website doesn't help the reader because they now have no reason to look at your site.

i think that less writing on more pages is better than more writing on a few pages...good move

I think the main thing is just to avoid huge chunks of text. You can still have a lot of text on a page if it is broken up effectively. This could include different columns, captions, ect.
