Fast Food Nation

Eric Schlosser's Fast Food Nation does an incredible job in illustrating the negative aspects of the fast food industry which consumers are unaware of. He begins by talking about how fast food chains such as Mcdonald's or Carl's Jr. came to be so successful and then moves on by describing what life is like as a fast food employee working for minimum wages. In the second section of his book he explains the chemical breakdown of fast food and why it is so addictive. He also exposes the unsanitary and inhumane working conditions in the "most dangerous job" as a slaughterhouse worker. Schlosser's ability to relate so many different aspects such as poverty, obesity, fast food addiction, etc. helped me draft my hypertext essay because now I realize how seemingly unrelated topics have a great deal of correlation with my argument.
