Fast Food Nation

The few chapter that i had to read for this book made me realize a lot of things. One of them being that there is a lot more to the fast food industry then i expected. When i see a McDonalds i think of underpaid and underage workers, i do not think of the actually meatpacking aspect behind it. I never realized how dangerous it is to work for the meat plants, and i never realized how mistreated the workers are. Its crazy to think that a job involving such intense labor does not have an actual functioning union. I think its rediciculous how much the owners of the plant can get away with when it comes to mistreating workers. I think the story that exemplifies how horiffic the meat packing industry is, is the story about Kenny. Kenny worked for over 30 years, and worked whole heartedly, just so the industry could use you him, and then screw him over in the end.
