Fast Food Nation

Fast Food Nation helped me to organize my first hypertext by giving me ideas about tangents from my topic to choose. I like how the author offered facts and then told personal stories of the teenagers who work in the fast food restaurants. He started with very general facts about the town's economy and then narrowed it down to the personal stories of the individual people. I was having a really hard time coming up with enough topics that would take up seven pages of my hypertexts and the different sections of the chapters definitely helped me a great deal.

Fast Food Nation also helped me to determine how to use facts in an informational piece, but at the same time not let them take over your paper. He included alot of analysis, which incorporated his own opinion and experiences. A purely factual paper would be really dull so I was able to add a personal aspect to my hypertext because of this.

I agree. Fast Food Nation helped in deciding how to break up my topic for the site into multiple views. I like the way Schlosser includes sub-sections, it’s very organized and aids in clearly understanding each point made.
