Hypertext reading

According to Liu, most people do browsing and key word spotting when reading on the internet. When I personally read hypertexts I will usually browse through the article. For the most part I do look for key terms or highlighted words that will take me to the next page. Though this may be distracting from the main topic, I feel that if done correctly it can be very effective.

i agree with that, but as long as the text does not stop with those words. I do not like it when you see a hypertext essay and once you get to the link, the text stops. the links should be to enhance the essay, not distract from it

I think there is a line between distracting and enhancing. links that make a site easier to navigate can be distracting to some but ultimately if they help you move through the site better it is more beneficial to the page
